It is important to be able to place the lens on the eye and remove it without irritating or losing the patientΓÇÖs confidence. This teaching module covers techniques used by office personnel to place and remove lenses. Techniques for the patient to use are covered in another module.
It is best to use the term ΓÇ£placementΓÇ¥ rather than the common term ΓÇ£insertionΓÇ¥ when discussing putting a contact lens on the eye. The lens is placed on the eye not in the eye.
